it's ginkaku-ji, the silver temple. the temple itself is not as impressive as this sand mound that seems to reference mountain and moon. i've been every time i've been to japan, but in january i was rewarded with a little snow on a sunny day, and as you can see in the image, it was pretty darn stunning! there's a beautiful raked sand area around it that is very geometric and beautiful as well...
